Occupational Safety and Health Boards
Occupational Safety and Health Boards are tripartite cooperation bodies, which assist the occupational safety and health authority in stakeholder cooperation. The purpose of the Occupational Safety and Health Boards is to support and develop occupational safety and health enforcement and to act as a link between the occupational safety and health authority, occupational safety and health actors and labour market organisations.
The task of the Occupational Safety and Health Boards is to consider important occupational safety and health development, planning and monitoring projects related to the duties of the Occupational Safety and Health Department at the Finnish Supervisory Agency. The department acts as the national occupational safety and health authority. As part of their tasks, the Occupational Safety and Health Boards also discuss general policies and performance targets of the occupational safety and health authority as well as the allocation of resources and other matters that are important for the development of the work environment.
The Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health, which operates under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, discusses broader occupational safety and health issues such as the occupational safety and health strategies of the European Union and Finland or national occupational safety and health development projects.
