Permits and notifications - Construction work - Yleistä

Advance notice of construction work must be given of all construction works that are expected to take longer than one month and that will employ a total of at least 10 workers, including independent contractors, as well as of all works the scale of which is estimated to exceed 500 person-days of labour.

In the case of construction sites shared by multiple contractors, it is the responsibility of the principal contractor (or similar) to submit a notice on behalf of all the parties involved. The notice must also include information about any subcontractors and suppliers as well as their estimated labour resources.

Submitting notices

Advance notices of construction works can be submitted by printing out and filling in a notice form and sending it by post or e-mail to the Division of Occupational Safety and Health of the Regional State Administrative Agency in whose jurisdiction the works are to be carried out. There is also an online form for notifying the authorities.
