I do not know whether a workplace survey has been carried out in my workplace. Where can I check the matter?
A workplace survey must be carried out in the workplace whenever there are employees in the workplace. The workplace survey must be conducted by occupational healthcare professionals and it must be accessible to all employees in the workplace. You should contact your employer or the occupational safety and health personnel in your workplace so that the matter can be investigated.
The workplace survey must be updated in accordance with the occupational healthcare action plan and when there are major changes in the workplace conditions (such as the introduction of new working methods or workspaces). Based on the information they have collected, the occupational healthcare professionals may also propose that the workplace survey should be updated.
The occupational healthcare service may also carry out a targeted workplace survey, in which a hazard or a workload factor occurring in the workplace is examined in more detail. Such factors include issues arising from the physical and psychosocial workload or indoor air quality issues in the workplace.
The employer must provide the employees with the necessary information on the factors affecting the safety, healthiness and working conditions of the workplace. Information must also be provided on the assessments, reports and plans concerning these issues. The employer must ensure that these matters are discussed properly and in a timely manner with the employees or employee representatives.
