The employer has outlets in different parts of Finland and the employees in them work in the same tasks. Is a workplace survey for each outlet required or is it enough if only one outlet is surveyed?
As a rule, a workplace visit carried out as part of a workplace survey must be made to all places of work because the conditions in workplaces vary depending on matters such as the personnel, location and the type of premises.
The expert role of occupational healthcare during a workplace survey includes assessing the health significance of the work and working conditions.
A workplace visit connected to a workplace survey will be performed in person or remotely. If necessary, different types of surveys, videos, interviews and photographs may also be utilised.
Occupational healthcare assesses on a case-by-case basis, in cooperation with representatives of the workplace, whether the workplace visit can be realised remotely. The reason for a remote workplace visit must always be stated in the workplace survey report.
If there are various exposure agents or special health hazards at the workplace, the workplace survey may require an on-site visit to assess the workplace or specific work tasks. Measurements and observations regarding matters such as the temperature, indoor air quality, noise levels, threat of violence associated with the work or social functioning of the work community may be made.
